These regulation resources links are likely to be useful to other Radiation Protection Advisers (RPA), Radioactive Waste Advisers (RWA) regulators, clients and visitors. The resources include direct links to downloadable Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Environment Agency (EA) and Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) application forms and guidance, Exemption Order (Scotland) and other useful information that we will post from time to time.
Whilst there have always been some differences between England and Wales, and Scottish radioactive substances regulation, those differences are more considerable now. The Radioactive Substances Act 1993 (RSA93) is substantially repealed in England & Wales (with one or two provisions remaining) – replaced by the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2010 (EPR 2010). The RSA93 still remains the central piece of radioactive substance regulation in Scotland. There is a further split in environmental regulation between England and Wales (2014).
